About This Event
This is one of six events for the Rocky Mountain Rendezvous signature event within the AVA's 50th Anniversary celebration. Starting elevation is 5160 feet. Walking sticks would be helpful and are recommended. Restrooms in the Visitors Center (if open) and at the trailhead, Altitude, winds, and low humidity contribute to dehydration - carry sufficient water; take multiple precautions against sun exposure. No free walkers
Additional Notes
Restored hi-plains grasslands featuring open trails and trails around riparian areas. Trees only near lakes. Views of the north central Rocky Mountain front range, and even Pikes Peak. Drive the refuge paved loop after your walk to see the resident buffalo herd.
