About This Event
This is one of six events for the Rocky Mountain Rendezvous signature event within the AVA's 50th Anniversary celebration. Starting elevation is 6710 feet. Walking sticks would be helpful and are recommended. Porta-potty at the start. Altitude, low humidity, and wind contribute to dehydration - carry sufficient water; take multiple precautions against sun exposure. No free walkers
Additional Notes
The Paint Mines Interpretative Park is a combination of the Painted Desert and Bryce Canyon with geologic formations of hoodoos, colored sedimentary rock layers, and sandstone-capped spires. There are hi-plains grasslands and only one tree. Exceptional views, in places, of 200 miles of Rocky Mountain front range.
